The SPA news agency reported that the Hisab and Rukyat Institute of the Supreme Court (MA) of Saudi Arabia had written to the chief executive of the king.

The letter dated Thursday, 20 April 2023 stated that Friday, 21 April 2023, was the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Previously, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia had appealed to Muslims in that country to monitor it.

Monitoring is done using binoculars or the naked eye.
