The SG BBM Bietigheim, who received the owls from Ludwigshafen at home, opened the second division handball evening. To date the visitors have only had one point on their points account and have had a close exchange of blows with the SGB. At 17:17, the interval was equalized. Even in the second half he was drawn. Ludwigshafen was never able to come away decisively and therefore the game remained open. The owls, however, have remained consistent. They didn’t give Bietigheim a single lead until the end and celebrated their first away win of 29:31 after 60 minutes.
With two more points on the count, the Eulen Ludwigshafen make a leap in the standings and are now in twelfth place with 3:5 points. SG BBM Bietigheim is two places higher with a balanced points ratio, in tenth place.
At the same time things got hot between 1. VfL Potsdam against HSC 2000 Coburg and HBW Balingen-Weilstetten against TV Großwallstadt. Balingen and Großwallstadt have had a perfect start to the season so far and have already collected three victories. The match featured lead changes and contested shots. After a showdown until the last minute, it was the hosts who were able to celebrate. HBW Balingen-Weilstetten won the most important game against TVG with 28:27 and remains undefeated.
The top goalscorers in the match were Daniel Thor Ingason with nine goals and Oddur Gretarsson with eight goals.
The match in Potsdam also offered high tension right up until the end. After a close 50 minutes, however, Coburg clearly paved the way for victory on the road. With a run of 4:0, HSC dominated the final round and took the first two points away with a 25:30 victory.
In the last game of the evening, ThSV Eisenach delivered a sovereign performance against VfL Lübeck-Schwartau. Last year’s third party clearly won with 32:24 and achieved its third victory in a row. Eisenach’s next opponents are HC Elbflorenz 2006, while Lübeck take on Dessau-Rosslauer HV 06 at home.
