Now SAS is also largely stopping flight operations: As the Scandinavian airline announced on Sunday evening, the planes will remain largely on the ground from Monday. You just want to maintain individual connections, for example to bring returnees from various countries to Sweden, Denmark and Norway. They also want to continue serving important lines in terms of infrastructure.
As a rule, you only want to fly again when the conditions allow commercial air traffic to be carried out. Recently, the demand in international air traffic was “essentially non-existent”, as stated in a statement by SAS. As a result of this development, around 10 percent of employees have to stay at home temporarily.
The Scandinavian airline with its hubs in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo has most recently transported 30 million passengers a year. It is one of the largest and most important airlines in Europe.
