The long-term rector of the Banking Institution of Higher Education Andris Sarnovičs will leave his job, according to the information prepared for the government by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Sarnovičs has been holding the position of Rector of the Banking Institution of Higher Education since January 4, 2011. The university has informed the ministry that on August 17 he will terminate his employment with the educational institution.
At the beginning of August, the Council of Advisers of the Banking Institution of Higher Education decided to recommend Andris Nātriņš, Vice-Rector for Research and Development, until the appointment of the newly elected Rector.
The government will decide on the appointment of Sodium to this position on Tuesday, August 18.
