François Pupponi had already announced that he would “go on leave” from municipal life to prepare his defense after being sent to correctional for “misuse of corporate property” and “forgery and use of forgeries” in the SEM Chaleur case.

In disagreement with the municipal majority on certain subjects, the parliamentarian intends to take advantage of a newfound freedom of speech. “I did not see myself going into the opposition, after having led this majority. I did not want to pollute the end of the mandate. “
