Sarah Sjöström is ready for the WC final.
In the semi-finals of the 50 meter butterfly, she was the fastest of all and secured another final place.
– I hope that it can continue as well as it has done so far at the competition, says Sarah Sjöström.
Sarah Sjöström continues to show her superiority in the 50 meter butterfly. During the Friday evening, she was ready for yet another WC final in what can be considered the Swede’s absolute parade discipline.
– It will be great fun. I feel that no matter how it goes, I am very proud of my achievements in butterfly all these years, says Sjöström to SVT.
Try better
The Swede had already shown off his super form in the morning. In the 50 meter butterfly trials, the Swede was the fastest of all with a time of 24.88. Despite a slower race during the semi-finals, Sjöström was able to reach the final. That with the time 25.08. Second was Alexandria Perkins, 0.73 seconds behind.
– It’s like small details that have to be right and so on. Hopefully it will go in the right direction tomorrow, says Sjöström.
First final
A final also awaits on the men’s side. Björn Seeliger struck with a personal best during Friday’s semi-final in the 50 meter freestyle when he finished second behind Australian Cameron McAvoy with a time of 21.67. The WC final is Seeliger’s first.
