Sara Gilbert separating from wife Linda Perry after nearly six years

Sara Gilbert is splitting from her musician wife Linda Perry after nearly six years.

“The Conners” star, 44, filed court documents in Los Angeles Friday to legally separate from Perry, the former frontwoman of the ’90s rock band 4 Non Blondes, according to paperwork obtained by People and E! News.

Gilbert cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for seeking the separation and didn’t request any spousal support for herself or Perry, according to People.

The former co-host of CBS’ “The Talk” and Perry tied the knot in March 2014. They share 4-year-old son Rhodes. (Gilbert is also mother to son Levi, 15, and daughter Sawyer, 12.)

USA TODAY reached out to Gilbert’s reps for comment.

‘You get a bit of your life back’: Sara Gilbert steps up on ‘The Conners,’ lets go of ‘The Talk’

Sara Gilbert has filed for separation from Linda Perry after 5 Years of marriage.

Gilbert’s split comes eight months after she walked away from “The Talk” to focus on family life after serving as a co-host for nine years. Her last day on the weekday talk show was in August.

“Last season, I did ‘The Conners’ and was also producing and (hosting) here. I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance,” Gilbert told viewers in April. “I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or take time for myself.”

On “The Conners,” a sitcom successor to canceled “Roseanne,” Gilbert plays Darlene, the mother of two children and the daughter of Dan and the now-deceased Roseanne Conner. She also serves as executive producer for the second-season series.
