The Santa Pola town hall has analyzed the possibilities of opening the three local markets and prepares the reopening of the food stands for the following week, from Thursday, May 7.
After considering the large size of Joists, the difficulty of closing streets in the square Master Quislant and the special characteristics of the Great Alacant, and despite the fact that the norm would allow it from this Thursday, the strong restrictions of capacity and distance make it advisable that in such large markets there is the certainty that the strict security standards imposed can be met.
First of all, safety and the maximum guarantees of prevention of the spread of Covid-19 must prevail, so this has been a priority when making the decision, as explained by the city council.
The forecast is to reopen the market Gran Alacant next Thursday, May 7 and those of Joists and Maestro Quislant on May 9. Like other towns with complex markets, such as those in Elche, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Benidorm and Elda among others, Santa Pola postpones the reopening of its marketss for next week.
