“Sanju’s Catching Skill Entertains IPL 2023 Teammates: Coach Amused”

Rajasthan Royals coach Kumar Sangakkara has praised Sanju Samson’s captaincy in the IPL. Royals, who are the current runners-up, are at the top of the points table after three rounds due to their high net run rate. The Royals are looking forward to winning the title which they lost to Gujarat Titans in the final last time.

Royals slaughtered Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in the first round. In the second match, they lost to Punjab Kings by five runs. But in the third match, the Royals came back to victory by defeating the Delhi Capitals by 57 runs.

Kumar Sangakkara praised Sanju Samson’s captaincy after the thrilling match against DC. This was while talking to the team in the team’s dressing room. Sanju was a flop in batting in this match. He faced four balls and got out for zero. But Kazaria Sanju also shined behind the wicket in captaincy.

His catch to dismiss Prithvi Shah in the very first over was much noticed. Sangakkara had omitted to mention the catch while speaking in the dressing room praising Sanju’s captaincy. Then Sanju himself reminded this through a gesture. Later, the video of the Royals players laughing and praising Sangakkara’s catch has gone viral.

Skipper, you have led the team very well. You handled the bowlers very well. And excelled in decision making on the field. You are not afraid to make decisions. It was extraordinary. Kumar Sangakkara’s words were Weldon. In the video, Sanju, who was listening to this with a small smile, extends his hand slightly to the right side to remind Sangakkara about his diving catch.

Sanju Samson’s gesture was soon caught by Kumar Sangakkara. Soon he was praising the catch as well. Sorry, I forgot the catch. It was an amazing catch. When Sangakkara said brilliant, Sanju along with Royals teammates and coaching staff burst into laughter. Royals have also shared the video of this through their Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, in the match against Delhi Capitals, the Royals, who lost the toss and were sent to bat first, achieved a huge score of 199 runs for four wickets. Fifties by openers Jos Buttler (79) and Yashaswi Jaiswal (60) laid the foundation for the Royals.

Shimron Hetmeyer’s (39*) good finish also strengthened the Royals. In response, DC Runchase was not even in the picture. They won the match by scoring 142 runs for nine wickets. Captain David Warner fought back with 65 runs but got no support from anyone else. New Zealand speed star Trent Boult and Indian star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets each for the Royals. R Ashwin also got two wickets.
