Sanggau Health Office reports 29 cases of DHF during January-September 2022 – Suarapemredkalbar.com

Sanggau, SP – The Sanggau District Health Office (Dinkes) recorded 29 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the Sanggau district of West Kalimantan from January to September 2022. The clinical cases were distributed across four sub-districts.

“There were 29 cases of dengue fever in the Sanggau Regency from January to September 2022. Of the 29 cases, none died,” said the head of disease prevention and control of the health office on Tuesday (9/27/27). of the regency of Sanggau, Sarimin Sitepu. 2022).

He said dengue fever cases were widespread in Kapuas district with 21 cases, Parindu district with 3 cases, Tayan Hilir district with 3 cases and Kembayan district with 2 cases.

Sarimin explained that dengue is one of the diseases to watch out for, because it can cause death and can occur when the environment is not clean.

While prevention efforts, he said, can be done by eradicating 3M Plus mosquito nests (PSN). First, drainage is an activity in the form of cleaning or draining a place that is a water reservoir.

“Such as bathtubs, jugs, water tanks, drums and other water tanks. The walls of the tubs and water tanks also need to be scrubbed to clean and remove mosquito eggs that are firmly attached to the walls.” Sarimin said.

During the rainy and transitional season, Sarimin suggested carrying out these activities every day to interrupt the life cycle of mosquitoes that can survive in a dry place for 6 months.

The second step, he said, is to seal water tanks such as bathtubs and drums. The closure can also be interpreted as an activity to bury used goods in the ground, so as not to dirty the environment and potentially become a mosquito’s nest.

In addition, Sarimin continued to reuse waste from used goods that have economic value through recycling. “We are also advised to reuse or recycle used items that could become breeding grounds for dengue fever mosquitoes,” she said.

So what is meant by Plus, Sarimin explained, is a form of additional prevention effort such as keeping fish eating mosquito larvae, using mosquito repellants, installing mosquito nets on windows and ventilation.

It is not enough to stop there, it also encourages the community to work together to clean the environment and regularly check water supplies. Then, store used clothing in closed containers, apply larvicide to hard-to-drain water tanks, repair drains and gutters that aren’t smooth.

DHF outbreaks usually begin to increase in the middle of the rainy season, due to the increasing number of mosquito breeding sites, due to increased rainfall.

“No wonder that almost every year dengue outbreaks are classified as extraordinary events or outbreaks. Therefore, I appeal to the public to continue practicing clean and healthy lifestyles and implementing 3M Plus,” concluded Sarimin. (July)
