San Jose Sharks vs Detroit Red Wings: Mikael Granlund Leads Epic Comeback in Overtime Victory

San Jose suddenly fell into a 4–0 deficit, but recovered almost as quickly. In extra time, Mikael Granlund decided, played by Fabian Zetterlund. In total, Granlund accounted for 1+2 in the NHL game.

Two-way goal celebration in the second period and overtime goal signed by Mikael Granlund is what the match between the San Jose Sharks and the Detroit Red Wings offered in tonight’s NHL round.

In overtime, Shark’s Fabian Zetterlund got hold of the puck in his own zone and was able to ride through the entire field unhindered. Granlund followed and was able to score the 6–5 victory after a cross pass by Zetterberg in front of the goal.

The second period of the match offered a truly divided goal crop. Between the 29th and 33rd minutes of the match, the home team Detroit went from 0–0 to 4–0. About two minutes later, San Jose had made it 4–3 and just before halftime the teams equalized.

Detroit once again took the lead in the final period, but San Jose came back. Two minutes before full time, Tomas Hertl equalized, played by Granlund.

Granlund also got a passing point for Zetterlund’s 4–2 goal in the second period.

In the last twelve games, Granlund has accounted for three goals and twelve assists. He is the fifth most effective player in the last two weeks in the entire NHL.

The overtime goal against Detroit was Mikael Granlund’s 500th NHL career score. He has now accounted for 148 goals and 352 assists.

Patrik Laine was not in the squad as his Columbus Blue Jackets lost away to the New York Islanders 3–7.

Goaltending legend Tuukka Rask hopped in the Boston Bruins’ training before the match against the Buffalo Sabres. Rask lappade på lagets skadeläge.

He was not included in the match lineup, on the other hand, it was Brandon Bussi from the farming team who, according to the plan, was the second goalkeeper behind Linus Ullmark.

The Nashville Predators won at home over the Tampa Bay Lightning 5–1. Nashville goalkeeper Juuso Saros has won seven of his last eight games.
