The plenary session of San Antonio de Benagéber approved the award of the contract for the construction of the new CEIP of the municipality, which will be located in the Montesano area. The approval had the favorable votes of the government team, represented by AISAB, PSPV-PSOE and Ciudadanos, and the opposition party Guanyem-SAB. For their part, PP and VOX abstained.
With the approval of this point, the agreement that was reached at the hiring table on April 1 is ratified and thus progress is made in the procedures that will make it possible to make a new educational center in the municipality a reality. The project, financed by the Ministry of Education through the Pla Edificant, it has been a very exhaustive job by the government team, who has held the powers to process, contract and, ultimately, develop it in its entirety.
It’s about a center highly demanded by the government team since 2015, moment in which the first contacts with Conselleria began. Given the growth in population and enrollment in the CEIP April 8, the consistory insisted on the need to build a new school, and this was finally endorsed by the Ministry. In 2018, the Edificant Plan file began to be processed.
The construction of the second CEIP “Will allow to decongest on April 8 as well as guaranteeing that all the boys and girls in the municipality have their school place ”, says the Councilor for Education, Carla Sierra. “This is great news for the entire municipality, a project that reflects the council’s commitment to improving educational resources and infrastructures ”. Along the same lines, the city council plans to expand the IES San Antonio de Benagéber. In addition, the new CEIP will expand its access roads thanks to the new footbridge that will connect Montesano with the urban area of San Antonio.
