Looks like this year’s fair Gamescom 2023 taking place in Germany, will bring us much more technological novelties than things from the world of games. Although the event started only today, we are flooded with new products from new manufacturers every now and then.
Samsung presented the flagship Odyssey Neo monitors
This time we will focus on the offer of the South Korean giant. Samsung announced the expansion of its range of monitors with giant units. Looking at the specification, they are aimed primarily at demanding (and wealthy) players.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is a 57-inch 32:9 curved monitor. We’re dealing with a matrix here Mini-LED about resolution 7680 x 2160 pixels and refresh rate do 240 Hz. The working area is huge – it’s essentially two 32-inch UHD monitors side by side.
The rest of the specs look very good too. For an efficient brightness of up to 1000 cd/m2 we are talking about material handling HDRwhich is confirmed by the DisplayHDR 1000 certificate. Players will also be pleased with the support of technology AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. The icing on the cake are the DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 connectors.
Samsung Odyssey Neo Ark is a 55-inch curved monitor (1000R). We are talking about a slightly worse specification than in the case of the first model. The resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixelsrefresh rate is do 165 Hzand the maximum brightness is do 600 cd/m2.
Both described units will be available for pre-sale soon (August-September). Suggested prices in Poland remain a secret, but certainly it will be very expensive.
