Samsung Unveils Revolutionary Folding Cellphone Concept at 2024 Consumer Electronic Show (CES)

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Samsung has a new innovation in folding cellphones. The device can be folded both ways, forward and backward.

This cellphone was exhibited at the 2024 Consumer Electronic Show (CES). The flex in & out concept is different from the Galaxy Flip that Samsung previously introduced.

Flip has two screens, a small screen on the front that can be used when the cellphone is bent and when opened you will see a larger screen.

Cnet Those who saw the cellphone’s presentation at CES reported that one side of the cellphone was shorter when folded. This means that the rear camera will not be closed when the cellphone is bent, quoted Wednesday (10/1/2024).

On the larger screen, several quick settings menus will appear. Apart from that, there are also controls for media playback, time and battery level.

Samsung also explained that it had tested its durability. The cellphone has been folded in extreme temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius and bounced a basketball.

Cnet Note that HP flex in & out is just a concept. There is no indication that Samsung will embed it on its cellphones in the future.

It’s not just the flex in & out concept that Samsung is showing off. The South Korean giant also brought several flexible and foldable screen concepts to the CES event.

For example, the Flex Liple is a flip phone with a curved screen at the top. Meanwhile Rollable Flex is a screen that can be enlarged five times when unfolded like a roll.

Apart from that, Samsung also showed off new capabilities in mixed reality headsets. The device has a screen with a higher resolution.
