Set of Galaxy AI Features Coming to Older Galaxy Phones
Samsung UK has revealed that several Galaxy AI features will be available for older Galaxy phones from the S23 series. The company announced these additions alongside the release of the Galaxy S24 series.
Confirmed AI Features
Samsung UK has confirmed the inclusion of four AI features for older Galaxy phones:
- Circle to Search: This feature enables users to circle, scribble, or select any item on their screen and perform a Google Search on it.
- Live Translate: With this tool, users can enjoy real-time translations during their phone calls.
- Note Assist: This feature helps users to create AI summaries and provides automatic formatting.
- Photo Assist: Photo Assist brings Generative Editing features to the Gallery app.
Expected Rollout
These Galaxy AI features will be available for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The planned rollout is expected to be completed within the first half of 2024, potentially alongside the One UI 6.1 update.
Excluded Features
It is worth mentioning that Samsung UK’s list does not include several Galaxy AI features that are present in the Galaxy S24 series. These features consist of Generative Wallpapers, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Transcript Assist, and more. Whether these features will be introduced to older Galaxy phones at a later date or not remains uncertain.
