For those who own these models – but also for those who intend to purchase them at a cheaper price than last year – this is good news.
In fact, all you have to do is download the latest system update – which concerns the new user interface One UI 6.1 – to have some of them on your smartphone generative AI tools more advanced, capable of summarizing a text or a web page, modifying an image or translating a telephone conversation in (almost real) time with a person who does not speak the same language.

It will also arrive on the 2023 Samsung devices mentioned above the new Circle and Find function designed by Google to simplify web searches on whatever screen the user is on. Just press and hold the home “button” and then draw a circle with the tip of your finger around the element you want more information about. The tool also works on images of a YouTube or TikTok video.

On its official website, Samsung specifies that “Galaxy AI features will be available for free via Samsung Galaxy devices that support them until at least December 31, 2025”.
The availability of AI features provided by third parties, however, “may be subject to change and in any case is subject to the terms and conditions of service of the supplier itself”.
Samsung’s strategy – to broaden the base of users served by its AI – was announced at the beginning of the year, on the occasion of the launch of the new Galaxy S24 which was held in San Jose, California.
The South Korean giant therefore continues to push the concept of “AIPhone”, taking advantage of Apple’s delay. In fact, the Cupertino company has yet to announce the integration of generative AI into its devices. It will probably do so in June, during the WWDC dedicated to developers.
