Samsung expects foldablecell phoneCombined sales of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flips will surpass sales of other high-end Galaxy phones within three years, according to a Samsung executive. According to the “Korea Herald” report, in 2025, foldable products will account for more than 50% of Samsung’s total high-end smartphone shipments.
Samsung executives also said that foldables will become the new standard for smartphones. This obviously means that in the future Samsung will have to make its foldable flagships better and more affordable in order to increase its adoption rate. Of course, the Galaxy Z Fold series is still the pinnacle of the high-end, but the Z Flip series caters to those who are looking for something more affordable.
To be honest, it’s certainly an ambitious plan. It’s hard to believe that Samsung is planning to make the Galaxy Z series the main focus rather than the Galaxy S series. As an S-series user, that’s really surprising, but three years is still plenty and things could change dramatically.
