This Tuesday, the technology development company Samsung launched the 870 QVO, its latest solid state drive (SSD) with a maximum capacity of up to 8 terabytes (TB), according to a statement from the company.

Thanks to the second generation ‘quad level cell’ (QLC) architecture built into the device, it is capable of storing 4 bits per memory cell. This feature, together with the ‘Intelligent TurboWrite’ technology, allows it to reach up to 560 MB / s of sequential reading and 530 MB / s of sequential writing.

In addition, the 870 QVO offers a 13% improvement in random read speed compared to its predecessor, the 860 QVO, making it ideal for meeting a wide variety of computing needs such as multitasking, gaming and web browsing. .

The 870 QVO series of devices offers different models with storage capacities of 1, 2, 4 and 8 TB, the latter being the device with the largest capacity on the market until the date of its launch.

Samsung announced that the suggested retail price of the 870 QVO for distributors is $ 199.99 for 1TB units of memory.
