Samsung adds Louvre masterpieces to its art collection on The Frame televisions – Samsung Newsroom UK

Samsung’s most representative lifestyle television opens the virtual doors of the world’s most famous museum

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced an exclusive agreement with the iconic Louvre Museum in Paris, France, with which Samsung will continue to expand the Art Store on The Frame.

With exclusive new artworks from the Louvre joining the collection, The Frame catalog now features more than 1,500 artworks from museums and galleries 42 different countries, which users can enjoy in 4K image quality, such as the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, the Tate Modern in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and LUMAS.

“Since we launched our lifestyle TV range in 2017, we have focused on developing the Art Store with prestigious collaborations. We want to offer much more than a television, bringing art to homes around the world through The Frame. This catalog includes works by hundreds of artists, spanning various periods, from ancient civilizations to modern art “, said Wonjin Lee, president and director of the Service Biz team at Samsung Electronics. “This year, we are proud to partner with one of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre, to enhance this collection and bring a piece of French heritage to the whole world.”

By partnering with the Louvre[1], Samsung offers all users of The Frame the possibility to explore the most visited museum in the world through forty works of art and photographs. This selection includes must-see masterpieces such as Mona Lisa and The wedding at Cana, as well as photos of the majestic galleries of the Louvre, its architecture and the museum grounds (the Louvre Pyramid, the Tuileries Garden, etc.). In addition, a brief description of each work allows to know its origin and its history.

Samsung and the Louvre will unveil other exclusive content for The Frame users throughout this year.

“The Louvre is a place of discovery, steeped in emotion, a spectacular setting for masterpieces of art. Admiring the works in its collection every day, as well as the views of the building, galleries and gardens, at home is a wonderful way to see and understand the extraordinary beauty of this museum ”, said Yann Le Touher, Louvre’s Head of Development, Brand Licensing and Trade Associations.

Ultra-thin design and exceptional image quality

The Frame has a unique and customizable design that differentiates it from the rest. Designed to be a television when it is on and an art gallery when it is off, The Frame is an innovative digital canvas that reflects everyone’s personal style. The 2021 model offers new personalized options to complement each space and style, with the possibility of adding a frame in different colors (available in white, teak and brown)[2]

The Frame can be hung flush to the wall on an ultra-slim bracket and connected to a One Connect box using a single transparent cable[3] that integrates all the connectors of the television, including the power supply. Users can also place The Frame anywhere in the room on a floor stand[4].

In addition to its perfect design to become an art gallery, The Frame offers incredible 4K image quality with QLED technology[5] Powered by the Quantum dot that enables 100% color volume, immersing viewers in a world of rich, realistic colors.
