ND MP, Miltos Chrysomallis, from the floor of the Parliament, made it clear that he will vote against the bill for same-sex couples.
Mr. Chrysomallis, is the second member of parliament, after Thanos Plevris, who went up to the floor of the Plenary to express his disagreement, however different from the one who abstained from voting, “so as not to give anyone the right to take advantage of it. for petty political reasons”, will vote against the bill.
From the floor of the Plenary, Mr. Chrysomallis emphasized: “The great faction of New Democracy has remained stable in its 50 years of history because it managed to integrate different opinions successfully because we all come from different political approaches – liberal, conservative, centrist , right-wing and we coexist for the many things we agree on, but also for those we disagree on and our president and prime minister himself is the first to recognize it all. ND is a large popular party that expresses the concerns and expectations of all Greeks.
I am also voicing these concerns today with my negative vote on this particular bill. But I place myself according to conscience and not abstaining. I cannot imagine a society where father and mother are replaced by parent 1 and parent 2 and children are deprived of the benefits that father and mother together provide. And that for me is valuable. Because we have the responsibility to preserve what we inherited, to protect society and above all our children”.
