The Salzburg summer scene dances between toughness, fresh entertainment and, for the first time, in the Felsenreitschule.
“Hard as a hammer,” says Angela Glechner. The director of the Salzburg scene doesn’t tend to use strong language, but these are new times when she uses the word to describe the play “Fúria”. “Rage” means translated. In the piece, choreographer Lia Rodrigues has her group perform “aggressively” in a “dance on the abyss,” says Glechner. “Fúria” is politically motivated by the conditions in Rodrigues’ homeland of Brazil, and in terms of dancing, the displeasure is carried to the extreme.
