Salmonella risk eggs, Ferrero collects Kinder Schoko-Bons produced in Belgium throughout Italy

After the withdrawal of the Kinder Eggs in Great Britain and Ireland due to a series of salmonella cases, a similar measure is triggered in Italy: Ferrero has in fact decided to recall some batches of Kinder Schoko-Bons, which are not eggs but bonbons of milk chocolate, produced by the same Belgian factory from which the eggs now banned from the British Isles came out. No problem, however, for the Kinder Eggs distributed in Italy: the very popular milk chocolate eggs, which contain a small surprise to whip, are in fact made in other production centers other than the one in Belgium.

Today the confectionery multinational from Alba, Piedmont, issued this note: “With reference to the precautionary and voluntary recall, recently adopted by the Ferrero Group in the United Kingdom and in other European countries, of some specific Kinder production batches made at the plant in Arlon (Belgium), Ferrero has decided to arrange, also in Italy, in agreement with the national health authorities, a precautionary recall of specific production batches of Kinder Schoko-Bons, coming from the same plant. All other Ferrero products, including the Kinder products dedicated to Easter and all the characterizations of the Easter celebration are not affected by the recall “.

In the case of the eggs withdrawn from the shelves of British and Irish supermarkets and shops, however, “at least 63 cases of product-related diseases have been identified – said the FSA, the British food safety authority – Most of them have been affected. children under 5 “. The eggs affected by the withdrawal measure are of two types, “Kinder surprise eggs” in both single and multiple packs, and have a deadline between 11 July and 7 October 2022: they were made, as well as the Kinder Schoko-Bons collected in Italy, at the Arlon plant.
