“When this offer came, I looked at the calendar, and as soon as I found out that I had time off, I immediately said yes. I’m already looking forward to it,” Salač said at today’s press conference.

The date of the race will fit between the US Grand Prix and the Emilie Romagny GP of road motorcycles, where he fights in the Moto3 class. Participation in the endurance event is also to help Salač prepare for the move to the higher Moto2, where he will ride in the Gresini Racing team from next season.

The star, who returned from her pension, was not taken to the famous race this year. The Czech series has thinned

“Ninety percent of Moto2 riders train on this Yamaha R1. Thanks to the fact that I race a lot of bikes with it, it will move me further. Although it will be difficult for us, we would also like to achieve a nice result,” said Salač.

König, who took third and sixth place in the accompanying supersport 300 category in the August Superbike World Championship in Most, also has a big challenge ahead of him. “I haven’t ridden that bike yet and it will be a completely different experience,” said König. In addition to a different motorcycle, both talented riders have to deal with a different distribution of forces during a few hours of racing.

The last race of the world championship will take place in Most. The organizers of the World Cup included the Czech circuit in the calendar after the Japanese Suzuka dropped out due to a coronavirus pandemic. The race of the highest world series of FIA WTCR touring cars will also take place in Most on the same date.

“Setting up a team with Dominik Jůda is something we worked on for a long time. At the time of the covid, we had to postpone some things, but when the Most race was announced instead of Suzuka this year, we wanted to put the team together so we could participate,” team manager Amir Ghanem, who in the past also led the successful Mercury Racing team.

“You want to win the race and the goals are high. It will be at home and we have decided to put together a team that will definitely have to fight for the top positions,” Ghanem added.

Jůda also agrees with this, trusting his young colleagues. “The tactics will only be seen in the race. Since it’s a shortened six-hour race, all the boys will go fast and the strategies can change during the first hour or twenty minutes. But I believe the boys will fight well,” he said.

This year’s World Championship of endurance motorcycle races will close with the race in Most, in which, for example, the former driver of the World Championship of Road Motorcycles, Karel Hanika, is racing. In front of Most, the championship took place in Le Mans, Estoril and Le Castellet.
