This Wednesday, July 21, while new health constraints come into effect, the metropolis of Saint-Etienne (Loire) shows good results in terms of Covid-19 contamination.
Below the alert threshold
Indeed, after having been at the head of the most contaminated metropolises in France, it is today the one where the virus circulates the least.
While the incidence rate Average is located in the country at 114.9 (estimate at D – 4), it is in the 53 municipalities of the metropolis of Saint-Etienne at 37.9. However, the critical threshold has been set by the government at 50.
A threshold that could also soon be reached, because if the rate is low, its progression is very rapid. It has indeed more than doubled in five days.
Friday, July 16, the incidence rate in the metropolis was only 17.5. In five days, it rose to 37.9. And yesterday it was 31. Either an increase in one day of about 20%.
The hospital data is rather positive. Over the past week, the number of hospitalized people with Covid-19 in the Loire is on the decline. They went from 78 on July 13 to 67 on July 20.
You have to go back to September 2020 to find such a low number.
