Morgane Leroux’s professional career is a path of reflections and opportunities that has been built over several years. Originally from Blois and attracted by fabrics, it is in this field that she made her choice post-graduate but due to lack of space in the sector she joined the Higher Institute of Color, Image, Design of Montauban where she has prepared a master’s degree in designer color.
In 2014, as part of her first internship, she opted for an Erasmus program in England at the creative studio of Faustine Steinmetz textile designer in London. There he is a real favorite for weaving. He will perfect his technique in the Atelier Perrine Rousseau in Paris. Back in Montauban, she starts looking for a professional weaving loom and meets a retired Gers weaver who agrees to give her a beautiful handcrafted work tool. Meanwhile, her personal life takes her to Saint-Etienne-de-Tulmont where she, at her house, unseen, imagines and creates hand-woven objects. She likes to design unique pieces that she transforms into accessories and decorative objects or that she sells to other fashion or furniture designers. Her work is recognized through the qualification “handicraft”.
In February 2022, she gives herself greater visibility by opening her Atelier Poëtis 13 rue porte du Moustier in Montauban where she shares her know-how by holding introductory weaving courses lasting from two to five hours from 10 years old. One session is enough to learn the useful gestures to start a weave work and be autonomous. A true touch of everything in her soul Morgane develops her own creative identity by inscribing weaving, a millenary activity, in modernity.
