Peter Sagan’s longtime collaborator Daniel Oss has resigned from the Tour de France. The experienced 35-year-old TotalEnergies cyclist had a hard collision with a fan on the cobbled section in the dramatic 5th stage.

Oss first hit a spectator in a yellow T-shirt on the right side of sector 3, from whom he bounced into another fan filming videos with his mobile phone. Several cycling websites stress that this situation could have been avoided if the spectators had respected the safety distances from the riders…

Although Oss finished with a loss of 13 minutes to the victorious Simon Clarke (Israel-Premier Tech), but the French group announced Oss’ resignation on social networks shortly after midnight.

The Slovak recognized him in Liqugas, later requested him to Bora. Oss is a great classicist, he often helps Sagan in the end stages. In this year’s edition, he will no longer be able to rely on the native of Trento.
