The fateful tragedy of the Halloween celebrations in Itaewon, South Korea, on Saturday night (29/10) still leaves a deep pain, especially for the families of the victims. The tragedy killed at least 155 people.
Quoted by Allkpop, the mother of one of the victims of the Itaewon tragedy, Lim, cried as she learned the news that her daughter’s organs could not be donated due to the severe damage.
Her daughter, Park, 27, is known to only enter Mokpo Nursing School, Jeollanam-do this year and has expressed her desire to donate her organs. After the tragedy, her mother decided to donate Park’s organs because she remembered her longing for her.
Unfortunately, Park suffered severe damage to his organs. Doctors at the hospital said the damage was so bad that her organs could not be donated.
During the Itaewon incident, Park had received cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR and was rushed to Seoul National University Hospital. Park is said to have been found lying under the crowd during the incident that occurred in Itaewon alley near the Hamilton Hotel.
When his mother arrived at the hospital, Park was alive but unconscious with the help of a ventilator on his body. The day after he was treated, Park was pronounced dead.
