Prices for food, electricity and gas continue to rise in Singapore. No exception for fresh chicken which has been imported from Malaysia.
Due to halted exports from Malaysia, supply chicken in the land of lions are increasingly rare. The price of chicken and its processed products also soared.
No wonder there are food entrepreneurs who temporarily close their outlets because of this condition. They do not dare to take risks to continue selling.

Meanwhile, for food entrepreneurs who are still opening their businesses, there is a change in the portion that buyers may get. This is felt by a Singaporean netizen named Ginny.

Collect Stomp (22/6), he shared his experience when he visited the fast food restaurant Nene Chicken at Our Tampines Hub (21/6). He discovered how small the size fried chicken which he received.
He ordered a chicken package containing 2 pieces and a chicken package containing 3 pieces. The total price for the meal is $28.80 or around Rp. 307,700.
“So the scarcity of chicken is real?” Ginny asked. He said, “The chicken pieces at Nene Chicken are SO SMALL! The chickens haven’t grown up yet.”
Ginny also showed a photo of the fried chicken she bought. He then compared it to the size of a cellphone and packaged wet wipes. The size of the chicken looks very small, not even bigger than his hand.

Ginny was disappointed and then complained about this to the restaurant. “I gave feedback to the restaurant shortly after receiving this meal but I was told by staff there was nothing they could do,” he said.
Previously due to scarcity chicken in Singapore, a nasi lemak stall called Dickson Nasi Lemak closed its stall for a month (30/5). Even though this stall has not been opened for a long time.
The closure of the outlet was reported directly by Dickson Nasi Lemak on his Instagram account on 27 May 2022. In an Instagram account upload, Dickson Nasi Lemak said that they will temporarily close on 1-30 June 2022.
“Dickson Nasi Lemak is very much affected by the cessation of fresh chicken exports from Malaysia. And we are sad because it will temporarily close on June 1-30 2022,” said Dickson Nasi Lemak.
