Ruud van Nistelrooij would like to become a coach in Germany, England or Spain. The coach is still without a club since his departure from PSV and he is patiently waiting for a great opportunity. In addition, Van Nistelrooij says that he has offers in his pocket from the Eredivisie.

In conversation with the Spanish Relief Van Nistelrooij is asked when he will sit on the bench at a Spanish club. “I would like to train a club here,” the former footballer answers firmly. “I have proposals from the Netherlands, but I would like to coach a team in Germany, England or Spain. Preferably in the competitions in which I have played, because I speak those languages well.”
A challenge in the Spanish competition seems like a nice next step for Van Nistelrooij. The coach would like to become a trainer of a ‘well-organised’ club. “I gained experience at PSV. First in the youth team, then one year in the second team and then in the main squad,” the former Dutch international explains. “During this period I have allowed many talents to grow, such as Gakpo, Madueke, Bakayoko and Xavi Simons. I was part of the development of these talents.”

Van Nistelrooij does not want to train a youth team again. “I like working with young players in combination with experienced staff. That combination is ideal for a coach,” said the coach. “I want to help young players in their development and win matches. The latter is ultimately the most important. With a way of playing football that is my own.”
