Singer Normunds Rutulis and the Dixieland Orchestra “Dream Team” have joined forces in publishing the song “Klau, kafiju!” By Māris Ozols and Anita Rezevska.
“The impetus for the creation of the song was given by its author, my friend Māris Ozols. The end result of a melody muted on the phone has become a lot of work. We chose the best Latvian Dixieland Orchestra “Dream Team” for the recording, which got its name from the recording of the soundtrack of the film of the same name, “says Normunds Rutulis. “After the concerts dedicated to the beginnings of Latvian jazz, our cooperation grew into a joint project, recording of a song and filming of a video. In turn, we attracted already tested forces – director Jānis Romanovski and choreographer Juris Gogulis. As a result, we have succeeded in everything we went for – a great recording and a video shot in one frame. The dancers of Juris Gogulis’ team and in one episode even the fine “Citroen” of the Riga Motor Museum also take part in it. “
The video was filmed in the premises of the coffee roastery “Rocketbean Roastery” on Miera Street, at the door of which the already mentioned “Citroen” is “parked” in a frame.
The author of the idea, Jānis Romanovskis: “We always make all the filming a little harder than we should – again this time, when we decided to film the whole clip in one frame. But the process is much more fun: one thing is left to happen, and someone can run over another or, for example, bump a musical instrument. But listening to this Normunds song only comes to mind, counting the days until the summer. ”
“The first time I listened to the song, I felt that there had to be movement and dance. A very happy song for the happiest days of the year. The main goal we wanted to achieve with the video is to put a smile on the audience’s face. And so that it arises not only from the song, but also from the video material! ” choreographer Juris Gogulis votes.
