Russian Troops Advance in Lugansk and Donetsk Regions: Geolocation Video Shows Ongoing Fighting – February 5 Update

Operation No. 1 – Lugansk region

Russian troops have recently advanced slightly northeast of Kupyansk and west of Kremennaya amid ongoing fighting along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line on February 5.

Geolocation video released on February 4 shows Russian troops making minor advances in northern Sinkovka (northeast of Kupyansk) and east of Yampolevka (east of Kremennaya).

Positional battles continued:

  • northeast of Kupyansk in the Sinkovka area;
  • west of Kremennaya in the area of ​​Ternov, Torskoye and Yampolevka;
  • south of Kremennaya in the area of ​​Belogorovka (12 km south of Kremennaya) and Grigorovka.

Operation No. 2 – Donetsk region

Russian troops recently confirmed an offensive in the Seversk area, northeast of Bakhmut. Geolocation video released on February 3 shows that Russian troops have recently advanced north of Vesely (15 km southeast of Seversk).

Positional battles continued near Bakhmut on February 5, but there were no confirmed changes in this section of the front line.

Ukrainian and Russian sources stated that positional battles continued:

  • near Bogdanovka (northwest of Bakhmut), Kleshchievka (southwest of Bakhmut);
  • in the direction of Ivanovsky (west of Bakhmut).

Ukrainian troops recently advanced into the Avdiivka area amid ongoing trench fighting in the area on February 5.

Geolocation video released on February 5 shows that Ukrainian forces have recently advanced northeast of Nevelske (southwest of Avdiivka).

Russian and Ukrainian sources said positional battles continued

  • northwest of Avdeevka in the area of ​​Novobakhmutovka and Stepovoy;
  • west of Avdeevka in the area of ​​Tonenkoye and Severny;
  • southwest of Avdeevka in the area of ​​Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye.

Positional fighting continued west and southwest of Donetsk on February 5, but there were no confirmed changes along this section of the front line.

Russian and Ukrainian sources stated that positional battles continued:

  • west of Donetsk in the Krasnogorovka area;
  • southwest of Donetsk in the area of ​​Novomikhailovka and Georgievka.

“Southern Axis”

Positional battles continued near the border of Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions on February 5.

Russian and Ukrainian sources reported that positional battles took place in the area of ​​Zolotaya Niva (southeast of Velikaya Novoselka) and Priyutnoye (southwest of Velikaya Novoselka).

Positional battles continued in the west of the Zaporozhye region on February 5, but there were no confirmed changes on the front line.

On February 5, Russian and Ukrainian troops continued positional battles on the left bank of the Kherson region, including in Krynki.
