Russian oil refineries have started to sell off their gasoline reserves

It is stated that 13.-19. in the week of March, the volume of gasoline production in Russia fell by 3.9% compared to the previous week. Currently, Russia is able to produce 111.3 tons of gasoline per day. The minimum amount of gasoline production was fixed on March 18 – 104.7 thousand tons per day. It is the first week that gasoline production has been affected by Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries in Nizhegorod, Ryazan and Sryzan.

However, despite the drop in production volume, oil companies have increased gasoline deliveries by 0.3% – up to 794.2 thousand tons. The difference between the volume of production and deliveries was covered by oil refineries by spending the reserves accumulated by the factories.

As a result, gasoline reserves decreased by 1.5% (25.5 thousand tons) during the week. In general, reserves of oil refineries are measured in two million tons. Thanks to the ban on the export of gasoline, which has been in effect since March 1, its reserves are 153 thousand tons higher than a year ago.

In March, Ukrainian drones were able to significantly damage oil refineries – Lukoil’s Nizhegorod oil refinery, as well as damaged important processing equipment at the Ryazan, Sryzan and Kubishev oil refineries (all owned by Rosneft).
