| Russian naval airport attack, satellite image revealing the damage is out

London: America’s Planet Labs with satellite images of the attack on the Russian naval airport in Crimea. Pictures showing the extent of the damage were released the other day. In the video, several Russian planes including Sukhoi 24M have been destroyed. However, Russia claimed that the planes were not damaged.

The attack took place last Tuesday near the Saki naval airport in Crimea. One person was killed and several others were injured in the incident.

The pictures show eight damaged planes parked at the airport. However, there is no significant damage to the airport’s runway. Defense experts who examined the satellite images clarified that the attack was carried out using long-range weapons with precise planning. British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is also reported to have said that the attack was carried out using Western-made weapons. Russia had previously said that the airport was not attacked, but that the accident was caused by the explosion of ammunition. In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, which was part of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said the other day that Russia’s occupation would end with the liberation of Crimea. Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Raznikov scoffed that Russian military negligence could be behind the attack.

Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that Ukrainian military officials, on condition of anonymity, admitted that they were behind the attack. The news is that the senior official said that forces loyal to Ukraine are behind the attack. According to the report, he would not reveal whether they directly attacked or helped the Ukrainian army.
