Seventeen Russians were included in the final application for participation in the upcoming World Judo Championships. About it reported on the website of the International Judo Federation (IJF).

They will play at the tournament in Doha in a neutral status. The list includes bronze medalists of the Olympic Games in Tokyo Niyaz Ilyasov, Madina Taimazova and Tamerlan Bashaev.

From the list, which was published at the beginning of the week, Anastasia Polikarpova disappeared.

The full list is as follows: Sabina Gilyazova (up to 48 kg), Alesya Kuznetsova (up to 52 kg), Darya Kurbonmamadova, Ksenia Galitskaya (up to 57 kg), Kamila Badurova (up to 63 kg), Madina Taimazova (up to 70 kg), Alexandra Babintseva (under 78 kg), Darya Vladimirova (underweight 78 kg), Abrek Naguchev, Yago Abuladze (under 66 kg), Mahmadbek Mahmadbekov (under 73 kg), Mikhail Igolnikov, Mansur Lorsanov (under 90 kg), Niyaz Ilyasov, Arman Adamyan (under 100 kg), Tamerlan Bashaev, Inal Tasoev (over 100 kg).

The IJF announced last week that it had allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in international competitions in neutral status. They had to pass an independent review. On May 2, the IJF announced that eight Russians had failed this test and would not be eligible for the World Championships. Their names were not specified.

The World Championship will be held in Doha from 7 to 14 May. It is the stage of selection for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The Judo Federation of Ukraine will boycott the tournament due to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes there.
