The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian forces destroyed a stray Ukrainian mine floating in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The agency specified that the mine was discovered by the Russian Black Sea Fleet and was floating about 180 kilometers northeast of the strait.
“On the order of the ship’s commander, a Ka-27 (Kamov) helicopter was raised into the air, whose crew liquidated the mine with machine gun fire,” the ministry noted.
