Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will adhere to self-isolation – Politics

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will follow a self-isolation regime because he has been in contact with someone whose Covid-19 test was positive, the ministry said on Tuesday.

The 70-year-old minister “feels good”, but the planned visits and meetings are postponed, the ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zaharova told the social network Facebook.

On Monday, Lavrov paid a working visit to Athens, where, as can be seen in the photos, during a meeting with Greek officials, the minister had put on a mask.

According to the newspaper “Kommersant”, this was only the second time since the beginning of the epidemic that the minister appears in a mask.

Lavrov was scheduled to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday to meet with senior officials, but on Thursday he was expected to arrive in Belgrade for talks with Serbian President Alexander Vucich.

In Russia, the number of new infections has continued to rise in recent days, reaching a record high.

On Tuesday, the Russian government tightened restrictions and made wearing masks mandatory in many public places.
