Russian Defense Minister: Part of Russian army training is coming to an end

The training of Russian soldiers is taking place in practically all navies and war zones, and part of the training is nearing completion, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Monday.

“Some of these lessons are coming to an end, some will be completed soon,” Shawig said during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

“The exercises are organized by the Western War Area, in practically all fleets – the Barents Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Pacific Fleet. Soldiers from practically all war areas take part in them,” the Minister said.

On February 10, Russia and Belarus began extensive maneuvers on Soyuzhnaya Regimosty-2022. The exercise in Belarus, to which Russia transferred parts and units of the Eastern War area, will run until February 20.

In Moscow and Minsk, it is claimed that Russian soldiers will return to their permanent locations after their training.

On February 10, the Russian Black Sea Fleet announced that the unit had completed a voyage across the Mediterranean and the Black Sea with six large landing craft from the North and Baltic fleets and had arrived in Sevastopol, occupied Crimea.

More than 30 Russian warships began training in the Black Sea on Saturday. The maneuvers involve aviation and the coastal forces, and the protection of the occupied Crimea is being worked out.

Russia has announced that two Black Sea areas and one Azov sea area training area will be closed for shipping from 13 to 19 February.

Ukraine announced on February 11 that Russia had canceled the closure of the Azov Sea.

Russia has now concentrated more than 100,000 troops on Ukraine’s borders, raising fears of a new invasion of a neighboring country.

Putin has threatened that if Moscow does not receive the “security guarantees” it has demanded, it will have to implement “military technical measures”.
