JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobieva said her country’s military attack on Ukraine would only end if Moscow’s targets were achieved. The targets are the demilitarization and ‘denazification’ of Ukraine.

In virtual interviews with journalists COMPASS TV Frisca Clarissa, Saturday (5/3/2022), Ambassador Vorobieva said she hoped that the military operation to Ukraine would end soon.

“But this will be possible to end if our target is achieved, either by diplomatic means, negotiating with the Ukrainian side, or through military operations,” he said.

“Our target is very clear, demilitarization and ‘denazification’ of Ukraine so that Ukraine becomes a neutral country,” he added.

The Russian ambassador accused the Ukrainian government of supporting Nazi ideology which he said was widespread in Ukraine.

In addition, he said that the root cause of the crisis is the sabotage of the Minsk agreement that has been carried out by Kiev for years.

Russia, said Vorobieva, has been trying to find a peaceful solution for the past eight years.

“We initiated the Minsk agreement which provides a clear way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine,” he said.
