Fluctuations in the prices of grain contracts on the world stock markets continued this week. FOB Chicago bread wheat fell $5.00 to $225.00/t. France was unchanged at €196.00/t, Ukraine was also down $5.00 at $195.00/t. Seven days ago, Russia had lowered its quotes, but now it has reversed the trend and shot up sharply by plus $29.00 to $235.00/t (plus 14%), reports Sofia Commodity Exchange.
The movement in corn also reversed direction and went up. In the US, the price was up $7.00 at $193.00/t, France was little changed at plus €2.00 at €176.00/t, and in Russia, following the previous slide down from a month ago, quotes were again unchanged at $181.00/t.
The price of barley in Ukraine is negative, minus $4.00 and levels at $170.00/t for March-April delivery.
Rapeseed on Euronext continues its upward movement and gained another 11.75 euros to 437.50 euros.
Crude sunflower oil contracts on the Rotterdam Stock Exchange have experienced some stagnation since the beginning of the year, followed by a slight decline, and now for the second week in a row they are strongly up by another $10.00 to $960.00/t, while refined Sugar for May 2024 delivery continued to fluctuate, with its sine curve this time climbing up by $10.70 to $614.80/t on the London Stock Exchange.
At the Sofia Stock Exchange AD, trading in the “Zarno” sub-district remains calm. Selling quotes for large quantities of bread wheat are at BGN 431.00/t, DAP delivery, buyers are also looking for grain, but are lower at BGN 300.00/t. Feed wheat is being sought at 290.00 – 310.00 BGN/t, the “buy” offers for corn are from 300.00 to 310.00 BGN/t from place, and for feed barley the buying interest is from 280, 00 to BGN 300.00/ton.
