Russia has staggering losses in the war against Ukraine, but it also has large reserves of terror

Other equipment leaks

As for the losses of other armored vehicles, Russia does not have a deficit in this regard. At the start of the invasion, the Russian arsenal had approximately 16,650 armored vehicles. Most of this equipment is Soviet-era armored personnel carriers and fighting vehicles. The latest BMP-3 armored vehicles of Russia had no more than 600, but the famous “Terminator” were only a few dozen.

Even taking into account the losses, more than 10,000 armored vehicles remain at Russia’s disposal. This is five times more than Ukraine received from the allies. The war had a noticeable effect on Russian artillery – over 70% of its combat capability was lost in this area.

As a rule, artillery is located behind the front line, and its losses are less than tanks and armored vehicles. However, NATO’s standard high-precision howitzers and self-propelled guns at Ukraine’s disposal make Russian artillery units close to the front very vulnerable.

Taking into account the losses, the Russian command decided to restore the long-range “Pion” equipment, which is the only Soviet-era equipment that allows firing at a distance of more than 40 kilometers. Russia had 260 such devices.

The main artillery systems available to Russia are self-propelled howitzers “Msta-S” and “Akatsia”. Their firing range is 25-30 kilometers, which is 10-15 kilometers less than NATO equipment.

The Russian Air Force has the lowest loss rate, however it is also the costliest loss. The total value of downed Russian planes and helicopters is about eight billion dollars.

In addition, Russia has used about 75% of its stockpile of high-precision missiles.
