Russia has announced the name of a fourth general in charge of a group in Ukraine

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Sergei Shoigu also inspected the fourth grouping of Russian troops in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The group in question is the “West” group, and before that the minister was on an inspection of “Center” and “South”, and two days ago – “East”reports “Interfax”.

The Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel that Shoigu heard a report from Lieutenant General Andrey Sychevoi, commander of the group, “on the current situation and combat tasks performed in the area of ​​responsibility.”

It is noteworthy that as a place it is indicated that Shoigu was at the “command post”. In previous announcements, no information was given where the inspection took place.

General Sychevoi is the fourth commander of the groups in Ukraine, and his name was revealed for the first time by the Russian Ministry of Defense. First, generals Alexander Lapin and Sergey Surovikin (“Center” and “South”, respectively) were declassified, and this week the name of Rustam Muradov, who fought in Chechnya and led the Russian contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2021, was also revealed.

After listening to General Sichevoi, Shoigu has ordered an increase in the “immediate destruction” of Ukrainian drones “over the areas bordering Russia. There are already numerous cases of drones flying from Ukrainian to Russian territory – they are regularly reported by the governors of the border regions.

Additionally, according to the press release, Shoigu has called for “firm repression” against shelling of “liberated settlements” given the arrival of “new countermeasures”.
