Russia Deploys RS-28 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile ‘Putin Invincible’ as Response to Ukraine Crisis

Russia Deploys RS-28 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Called Putin Invincible When West Leads to Ukraine

TRIBUNNEWS.COMRussia responded to the maneuvers of Western countries in providing weapons assistance to Ukraine, through an announcement of the deployment of intercontinental ballistic missile weapons (ICBM).

This intercontinental ballistic missile is a next-generation strategic missile that Russian President Vladimir Putin once described as “invincible”.

Recent reports say that the Russian RS-28 Sarmat ballistic missile has already been deployed for combat duty in Ukraine.

Earlier, referring to a report by state news agency RIA Novosti, the Kremlin stated that the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile would be ready for combat duty by the end of 2022.

But the deadline has passed, and in June, Putin said that the new missile system would be deployed for combat duty “soon”, without specifying a specific date.

Director General of Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, Yuri Borisov said that the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile was ready for use in war, Friday (1/9/2023).

“The RS-28 Sarmat Missile strategic complex (location) has been put on combat duty,” RIA Novosti was quoted as saying.

Satan 2 Has a Weight of 200 Tons

In April 2022, Moscow said it had successfully tested the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of carrying a nuclear payload.

Putin, who frequently made veiled nuclear threats against Kyiv’s Western allies during the war in Ukraine, claimed at the time that the weapons would make Russia’s enemies “think twice.”

Russia tested one of the Sarmat warheads during US President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine in February 2023, but the test appears to have been unsuccessful.

The RS-28 Sarmat – dubbed ‘Satan 2’ by Western analysts – is one of Russia’s next-generation missiles launched by Putin in 2018 which also includes the Kinzhal and Avangard hypersonic missiles.

Weighing over 200 tons and capable of carrying multiple warheads, the Sarmat is designed to evade anti-missile defense systems with a short initial launch phase.

This technology makes the enemy’s surveillance system a small and narrow chance to track it.
