Russia Cup: Daniil Ivanov before the final 1 point ahead / Eisspeedway

While the ice speedway season didn’t even take place in Western Europe, people are still racing in Russia. In the penultimate race of the Russian Cup, Daniil Ivanov was able to pull out a narrow lead.

After six of eight races for the Russia Cup 2021, Daniil Ivanov and Nikita Bogdanov were tied in the overall standings with 79 points each and went into the last weekend with races 7 and 8 in Yugorsk.

In Western Siberia it is pre-programmed that Ivanov and Bogdanov will make up the victory in the Russia Cup among themselves, the direct encounter was accordingly of great importance. Bogdanov initially led ahead of Ivanov, but the 34-year-old Ivanov played out his entire routine. At some point, Bogdanov couldn’t fight off the attacks and had to let Ivanov go.

Since neither Ivanov nor Bogdanov showed any nakedness in the other races, Ivanov won with a 15-point maximum ahead of Bogdanov with 14 points. Third place went to European champion Dmitry Solyannikov, who made up one point on Ivan Chichkov, who is currently third overall, in the fight for third overall.
