Plane at family risk

Already on Friday afternoon, the chief physician of the hospital in Omsk, Aleksandr Murachowski, announced that Navalny would be treated on the spot, as the medical council had decided to do so. In the evening, however, a different decision was announced. Murachowski’s deputy, doctor Anatoly Kaliniczenko, said that the doctors agreed to transport the patient abroad.

– The patient shows positive dynamics and is sufficiently stable, the state of his brain is stable – said Kaliniczenko. He said the medics “did not object” to the family’s requests to take Navalny abroad for treatment. However, the oppositionist’s brother and wife “take the risk” – he noted.

Kalinichenko also said that doctors “finally ruled out” a chemical previously reported in the media as it was not found in the blood and urine of the patient.

Although the representative of the hospital in Omsk said that the transport of Navalny would be organized on Friday, the spokeswoman of the opposition activist Kira Jarmysz announced that it would be later. “Alexey’s departure will not take place earlier than in seven hours” – wrote Jarmysz on her Twitter account around 19 on Friday Polish time.

Navalny, one of the most important Russian oppositionists, he was hospitalized on Thursday in Omsk in Siberia. He felt unwell on a plane flying from Tomsk to Moscow and lost consciousness. The plane crashed into Omsk. The oppositionist is in a coma and under a respirator. His colleagues believe that an attempt was made to poison him.
