The 32-year-old Harry Potteractor has been on the social medium for a week and was allowed to write a million followers to his name after four hours and one minute.
That is 43 minutes faster than Attenborough, who had a million followers after 4 hours and 44 minutes. Grint thus holds a Guinness World Record.
The actor first posted a photo with his five-month-old daughter, writing: “Only ten years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! I hereby introduce you to Wednesday G. Grint. “
The Briton now has 3.4 million followers. Attenborough now has 6.2 million, more than a year after his first post on Instagram.
