Rumors that Porsche agrees to acquire 50% stake with Williams F1 team[F1-Gate.com]

Porsche has reached a near-agreement to buy a 50% stake in the Williams F1 team, F1 reporter Jacques Plouge revealed in Ziggo Sport’s post-race review following the United States Grand Prix.

The FIA (International Automobile Federation) has already revealed in its latest statement that talks are also underway between Porsche and several F1 teams. Porsche wanted to buy Red Bull Racing, but the team did not want to sell its 50% stake. Therefore, the negotiations eventually broke down.

Porsche is rumored to be still in talks with other teams and, according to Jacques Plouge, a deal with Williams Racing is currently going well.

“Latest news: Porsche is in talks with Williams to become a 50% owner and supplier of engines by 2026. The agreement is almost complete,” Jacques Plouge told Ziggo Sport.

Jacques Plouge, who did not cite the source of this message, reiterated that the agreement was almost concluded.

The Volkswagen Group will now have two names in F1 from 2026. Audi previously announced that it will become an engine supplier from 2026 and may announce a deal with Sauber this year.
