Rumor: Obsidian would be working on a game similar to Disco Elysium

That’s what journalist Jeff Grubb claims in a recent episode of the XboxEra Podcast, which you can listen to below. The game would have players investigate a mystery surrounding a murder in 16th century Europe and would not feature combat. The game could be released in 2022.

In any case, Obsidian is currently working on the The Elder Scrolls-esque RPG Avowed for Xbox consoles and PC, which has no release date yet. Project Missouri has not yet been officially announced. It is likely that if the game exists, it will only come to Xbox and PC, as Obsidian is part of Microsoft.

Furthermore, Grubb again mentions Project Belfry, that he mentioned earlier this fall. The game is said to be a Diablo-esque action RPG from the makers of The Banner Saga that is being developed exclusively for Xbox (and PC). The game may also be released in 2022, but has not yet been officially revealed.

Finally, Rare’s Everwild is mentioned. The development of that game, according to Grubb, would be anything but smooth. Earlier this year there were rumors that development had started all over again. However, Rare would still not be able to decide what exactly the gameplay of the game entails.
