“The juniors won! shouted in chorus the players and all the staff of the RCM yesterday afternoon after the formidable victory obtained on the field of Sucy-en-Brie (22-23). “We get knocked out every week, because we have a really very young workforce, reminds coach-president Rémy Parisseaux, so when we win it becomes our rallying cry”.
The year 2022 is definitely off to a good start for the Sarthois, since this is the 3rd victory for the Sang et Or – after those obtained in Angers (34-32) and against Chinon (37-25) – in four contested matches. Abused and overtaken by Guichard, Antonin Giraud’s teammates then seemed resigned (22-13, 64′). But against all odds, Le Mans raised its head, held on and ended up winning thanks to a last five minutes of madness which saw Heurtaux pass a penalty (22-16, 77′), then the conversion of the win after a try by Arthur Meunier (22-23, 79th).
