To help the owners of Horeca establishments, the municipality of La Louvière has decided to close the bus band going down rue Sylvain Guyaux on summer weekends (until August 31) and thus allow cafetiers and restaurants to enlarge or create outdoor terraces. A first measure to try to help these traders affected by the crisis. The measure will apply from Friday 26 June.

Being able to extend outdoor terraces on public roads is one of the recurring demands of the Horeca sector. The City of La Louvière has just responded positively, in particular to the merchants on rue Sylvain Guyaux. “We have indeed decided to close the bus strip going down the street to allow cafetiers and restaurants to extend their terrace for summer weekends ”, explains the alderman of Economic and Commercial Development, Pascal Leroy. “The objective is of course to allow them to welcome more customers in compliance with health rules by guaranteeing, in particular, social distancing. “
The bus strip only will be closed from Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 1 a.m. until the end of August.
