Rubenis finishes sixth in the final leg of the ‘Solidarity and Olympic Race’ cycle

Latvian cyclist Pauls Rubenis (“Tartu 2024 – Balticchaincycling.com”) won the sixth place on Saturday in the “Solidarity and Olympic Racing” cycling race in Poland (FIA cat.2.2) in the fourth stage, ranking 17th.

On Saturday, athletes from Kielce to Lodz covered 200 kilometers along the plain, the winner was determined at the finish. The first to cross the finish line was a homeowner from the “Voster ATS” team Silvesters Janiševskis. He overtook the Israeli from the “Israel Cycling Academy” team Juvalu Benu Moshi and the CCC development team’s Polish cyclist Stanislav Anjolkovski.

The large group finished the race in four hours, 20 minutes and seven seconds. In the “Tartu 2024 – Balticchaincycling.com” team, Rubenim had the best place in the stage, but his compatriot and teammate Kristers Ansons, who took the 103rd place, was three minutes and 42 seconds slower.

In the overall standings, Anjolkovskis defended the leading position, 14 seconds ahead of Janisevsky and 17 seconds ahead of the Israeli Cycling Academy team Itamaru Einhorn.

Rubenis finished 17th with a 30-second deficit, while Anson finished more than 15 minutes behind.

Rubenis took the fifth place in the classification of new riders, he took the 14th position in the sprinter rating.

In the team rating “Tartu 2024 – Balticchaincycling.com” took the 11th place, lagging behind the Belgian team “Lotto – Soudal U23” by seven minutes and 19 seconds.

Rubenis was seventh in the first stage, ninth in the second, and twelfth in the third. Only a 19-year-old cyclist became the Latvian vice-champion in a group race last week, winning the U-23 test.

In total, this tour includes four stages, finishing the race in Lodz on Saturday.
